A Paleo Christmas 2014

Here are just some of the suppliers and recipes that helped us over this Christmas. Thank you all!

Totally free range, Bronze turkey from Caroline at Monmouthshire Turkeys. Sourced after much research, many phone calls and lots of questions. Tasted wonderful.

Sustainably farmed smoked salmon and trout from Inverawe Smokehouse – delicious! Thank you Bertie.

Fantastic meat courtesy of John and Patsy Price and George’s Butchers, Talgarth.

Stuffing – an adaptation of several recipes and using almond meal left over from making almond milk in place of breadcrumbs and minced pork instead of sausage meat (to avoid gluten)

Cranberry sauce sweetened with cherries instead of sugar

Spiced red cabbage (without the sugar)

Sprouts and pancetta cooked in sherry vinegar

Roasted root vegetables

Orange, cranberry and ginger biscuits (with slight adaptations) from the wonderful George Bryant’s Civilized Caveman

Spiced orange cake – an adaptation from Civilized Caveman’s Lemon Pound Cake, served with plums cooked in brandy

Orange Paleo truffles and Brandy Paleo truffles – an adaptation of this recipe from Nom Nom Paleo

Tequila courtesy of Olmeca Altos!

I will post up all the recipes in the run up to Christmas 2015 – along with a few others that I plan on trying…
